Community Guidelines

1. I will uphold and promote the mission of Beloved Arise—To celebrate and empower queer youth of faith. We use “queer youth” in this context to include youth and young adults and to reflect all identities in the LGBTQIA+ spectrum. We use “youth of faith” as a general term to include youth (from any religious or spiritual tradition) who embrace faith as an important part of their identity.

2. I will uphold an affirming theology or belief system that celebrates LGBTQIA+ people as equal members of our faith community. Additionally, I hold that I believe that LGBTQIA+ folks have the same dignity and value as any other human being, and therefore, worthy of unconditional love.

3. I will respect and support all aspects of another youth’s identity (including their faith), their desire to express their identity (including preferred pronouns), and their right to disclose or not disclose their identity with others.

4. I will honor and respect others’ religious or spiritual beliefs even if they are different than my own. I will not pressure others to change their beliefs and adopt mine. I will uphold Beloved Arise’s multi-faith commitment: We are a community celebrating and embracing queer youth and young adults of all faith traditions. We uplift and empower LGBTQ+ young people in all spiritual beliefs, identities, expressions, and aspirations.

5. In Youth Alliance spaces, I will be welcoming, caring, and treat others the way they want to be treated. I will help cultivate a loving environment where I and other LGBTQIA+ youth feel welcome, respected, supported, and celebrated for who they are. In addition, I will not demean people or groups and I will not share or bring up explicit content with other student members.

  • If you see another student member doing something that is not in accordance with the above guidelines, or if someone in the community is making you or someone else uncomfortable, report your concern to contact@belovedarise.org.

  • Beloved Arise is invested in the well-being of all queer youth. However, it is important to note: Beloved Arise and the Youth Alliance program is not designed to provide therapy or crisis intervention. We believe everyone deserves help and support.
