Born into a musical family, Ella grew up listening to everything from Bach to Kate Bush to Public Enemy, and knew she wanted to be an artist from a young age. She began gigging and busking around Seattle as a teenager, and self-released her first EP, “I Smell Thunder”, when she was 18. Ella loves telling a good story, and is passionate about capturing the heart of the human experience with her music.
Ella currently interns with the Recording Academy, and will be graduating college in 2021 with a double major in Audio Engineering and Electronic Music Production.
Ella has been a faithful Beloved Arise volunteer from the very start. She wrote a beautiful song for queer youth and performed it at our launch party in Feb 2020. She also volunteers as a leader for our weekly youth group.

In 2020, Ella Sharp wrote this song as an anthem for Beloved Arise. Says Ella, “It's intended to be a love letter from God's point of view, affirming Their children's inherent belovedness. And it’s intended to serve as a reminder that queerness is a gift and is representative of God's creativity.”
This love song from God’s perspective is like a word of encouragement from the most loving friend of all. God knows that the weight you carry is heavy, that sometimes your existence can feel like it’s splintering under the weight of expectations.
Ella channels God’s voice when she says, “I want you close, sweet love of Mine. You are My song, you’re My delight.” We don’t often get to hear such clear and exuberant declarations of love. And yet, God makes these declarations to us all the time – through friendship, through the natural world, through holy scriptures, through the many ways in which God has created us.
If you could only see yourself the way God saw you, you would see both the immense pressures that weigh upon you and also the intense beauty that forms your being. You would extend to yourself the tenderness and enthusiasm that God pours into you. If you could only see yourself the way God saw you...
